Take The Stage x The Spitfires

Take The Stage / October 22, 2019
by Johanna Roelich

The Spitfires are a Watford based 3-piece band who blend elements of punk, soul and ska music. To say they have a unique style is a massive understatement. They recall the halcyon days of the late 70’s and early 80’s punk, with vocalist Billy Sullivan sounding uncannily like Paul Weller, in the Jam days. Their tracks are catchy, lyrics are powerful and the energy they give off when you listen to their sound, is electric. When you hear The Spitfires tracks (especially ‘Stand Down’) you relive the epic scenes of the late 70’s, where talent became more headstrong.

To be fair, you’d have to have no pulse to not want to get up and bounce around to ‘Stand Down’, with its driving keys and crashing guitar chords.

With this being said, we knew these guys were something special, which is why we caught up with them for our Take The Stage campaign.

We got to know the lads on a personal level, styled them up in one of their favourite brands; Fred Perry, and got an exclusive performance nailed down. This is a Take The Stage not to be missed.
