The scotts Student Guide: Liverpool

Liverpool is one of the best cities to be a student in the UK. That’s a fact. It’s got four universities: University of Liverpool, John Moores University, Hope University and Edge Hill. Whichever one you got into or are planning to head to, you’ve made a fine choice because Liverpool has some of the friendliest natives, cracking facilities and the night life isn’t bad either (not that you’ll be going out BECAUSE YOU’LL BE STUDYING). Once you get past the stress of finding somewhere to live and sorting out your student finance, you’ll start having a look at what’s going on in your new home. Well stop right there, fresher, because we’ve done it for you. Read on.

Seel Street
When you’re not writing your essays and having early nights, you may venture out and about. Seel Street is packed with bars and places to eat with literally everything you can imagine. It’s in the heart of the city and is teaming with students mid-week and even more stacked at the weekend when those who work get involved. A couple of big boys you might want to pay a visit to on this street is Heebie Jeebies, Brooklyn Mixer and Peacock.

This place will save your life over and over again. When you’re skint, and you WILL be skint, you can get a chicken mayo baguette for about a quid from in town. Or literally anything else you fancy. Trust us, you’ll be visiting Eat4Less many times over your three or so years especially when it’s two months till loan day and you’ve spent it all on Tesco’s own brand lager.

Arts Club (formerly East Village Arts Club)
If part of your uni experience is going to centre around music, whether that’s your own band or going to see as much live music as you can over the three years, you’re guaranteed to be in this venue lots of times. You can see anything from the latest bands, DJs and events like Disco nights. It’s a great venue but get ready to sweat.

The Brookhouse
The Brookhouse on Smithdown Road is a regular haunt for many, many students. The reason? £1.00 pints on a Thursday. Yes, there are many bars that are much nicer but this place has a let’s say, charm. Again, you’ll spend a fair few nights here, especially if you live in Studentville: Smithdown and if YOU’RE NOT IN THE LIBRARY STUDYING.

Don’t forget, we not offer 20% student discount with Student Beans and you’ve got a scotts in Liverpool One here. Hit the link to see our latest arrivals.
