Fantasy Football Scout Report

We’ve had to wait for the Premier League campaign to continue after the final rounds of the European World Cup Qualifiers. There were some major shocks during the qualifiers with some big teams in danger of missing out at Qatar 2022.

The teams that managed to qualify automatically are;

Teams who have qualifiedBelgiumCroatiaDenmark
EnglandFranceGermanyNetherlandsSerbia
SpainSwitzerlandBrazilArgentinaQatar (hosts)

From reading the list it’s not hard to see which of the big boys are missing from the list.

It went down to the wire to see who would emerge at the top of their respective groups. Serbia scored a 90th minute goal against Portugal to earn the top spot meaning Portugal will now have to win in their playoff matches to qualify. Switzerland hammered Bulgaria 4-0 to take advantage of Italy’s draw against Northern Ireland on Monday to shock the European Champions and force them to Portugal in the playoffs.

Joining Portugal and Italy in the playoffs from the home nations will be Wales and Scotland. Wales managed to hold onto a 0-0 draw against number 1 ranked Belgium and Scotland produced a huge win over Denmark for both teams to earn a seeded spot meaning that they will both play at home in the semis against the unseeded teams left.

That’s enough about the World Cup Qualifiers. Let’s talk about the Prem games this weekend and who you should be considering for your team.

Harry Kane (£12.2m)

Now this one may come as a shock because Harry Kane hasn’t had the best season so far with transfer rumours and managers coming and going but this might be the weekend to add the England captain to your team. Spurs now have a top manager in Conte, who has seemed to put the fire back in the bellies of the players, also the game against Leeds will be Conte’s first home league game, which is one he won’t want to lose. Now onto Kane more specifically over the international break Kane has scored seven goals for England so if he can bring that form over to his club then it’s points points points!

Jared Bowen (£6.3m)

West Ham have been the team that have shocked many of us with how well they are playing and have rightly earned the 3rd spot in the league table. One man who has been a big part of the success has been Jared Bowen, since gameweek 6 no one other than Salah has had a higher expected goal involvement than Bowen. West Ham now have a good run of fixtures too and with Bowen costing just £6.3m it’s definitely a safe bet.

Callum Wilson (£7.3m)

Newcastle owner’s haven’t had the honeymoon period they were hoping for and have made some changes that we all expected including sacking Steve Bruce in favour of Eddie Howe.

Now one player that is familiar with Howe is Callum Wilson, therefore expect Newcastle to receive a lift from the new appointment and Howe to get the best out of Wilson. Another reason to pick Wilson is that their game this weekend is at home to Brentford who have conceded 8 goals over the last 4 games, therefore we expect Wilson to at least score one goal this weekend.
