Fantasy Football Scout Report

by Chris Balding

As the premier league moves in gameweek 15, Manchester City move into pole position after a convincing 3-1 win over Watford while Chelsea drop points in a shock defeat to 4th place West Ham. Newcastle got a vital win over Burnley to add extra spice to the bottom of the table fight. Elsewhere Spurs dominated Norwich in a 3-1 win, Liverpool needed their super-sub Origi to secure the 3 points in the final seconds of the game against Wolves and United’s new boss Ralf Rangnick got off to a good start with a hard fought 1-0 win over Palace. Last night Arsenal gave away a 1-0 lead to Everton ending in 2-1.

Now onto our selection of the top players that should feature for your team in fantasy football.

Mason Mount (£7.5m)

Mason Mount has found some form over the last two games, scoring and providing an assist in both games. His latest goal against West Ham is evident that he has some confidence in his ability as when Ziyech floated in a cross into the box only for him to coolly kick the ball first time on the volley to squeeze the ball in at the near post. Chelsea take on Leeds at the weekend and with the way Marcelo Bielsa likes his team to play we can see Chelsea overpowering them and walking away with a convincing win, with Mount being a benefactor.

Emile Smith Rowe (£6.1m)

Arsenal’s form has been inconsistent of late, with their latest game against Manchester United being one where they were unlucky to not come away with a point. It’s been their defensive efforts that have been letting Arsenal down as they haven’t had any problem scoring goals. This has been Emile Smith Rowe’s breakout season scoring 5 goals so far this season with his latest coming in the game against United. He showed real maturity to get his goal as he was the only who played to the whistle instead of just ball-watching.

Bruno Fernandes (£11.6m)

After netting a hattrick in the first game of the season we haven’t seen Fernandes playing at his best but under the new manager we might see him improve his current form. He did play well under Carrick, getting a much needed goal to improve his record. United play Norwich next which is a great opportunity for Fernandes to add to his tally.

Jamie Vardy (£10.7m)

Second top goal scorer in the league behind Mo Salah, Vardy has to be one of the most consistent players in the prem over the last few years. It’s easy to forget that Vardy is 34 years old but he doesn’t look like he’s slowing down. Currently sitting in 14th place Leicester are falling short of their expectations but with Youri Tielemans coming back from injury they have someone who has a great range of passing and the vision to pick out the flying fox, Vardy. Leicester are due to play struggling Newcastle next which is a perfect time for Vardy hattrick!

Ashley Young (4.7m)

Joining Villa in the summer not many of us expected to see the 36 year old back in the Premier League, but we think getting him is a great bit of business. With Steven Gerrard taking over as manager we knew he would start playing Young more as he needed someone he could trust to keep the standards high and you don’t play for England and Manchester United without doing that. Young might be a dark horse for your team as he’s technically a defender but can be played anywhere from LB to LW and he takes set pieces with wicked delivery therefore he should get a few points for your team.
