We’ve all been there, home for Christmas and feel like you need to kill a bit of time. Or maybe you want to sit down with the fam for a piece of quality drama. Either way, we’re going to make it real easy for you to decide. Forget about the family arguments over the remote.

At the end of the day Christmas TV is the best sort of TV. It’s one of the only times of the year that you actually have a chance of finding something decent to watch. Alongside this, there is always a weighty stock up of films on Netflix and some new additions to the cinema listings. This December we are giving you our top picks of what to watch.

Peaky Blinders Season 4 (2017)

For those who didn’t catch it when it was on the TV (shame on you), Season 4 of Peaky Blinders is coming to Netflix this December! Set in 1919 Birmingham, the series is centred around a gangster family, a gang who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps, and their fierce boss, the one and only Tommy Shelby. This is a jaw-dropping series, that is definitely worth the watch and it is available from 19th December.

The Grinch (2018)

This year we have been blessed with a new spin on the Christmas classic, The Grinch. Desperate for peace and quiet across the Christmas season, the Grinch plans to pose as Santa and put a stop to his town’s festive celebrations. The film is already critically acclaimed and is out in cinemas now.

T2 Trainspotting (2017)

Here we have a sequel that mostly definitely didn’t disappoint. First there was an opportunity, then there was a betrayal. Twenty years later, Mark Renton returns to the only place that he can ever call home. There waiting for him are old mates, wondering what happened to him all those years ago. A film that portrays every emotion, available on Netflix from 22nd December.

The Fix (2018)

Coming to Netflix on 14th December is a 10-episode series, hosted by Jimmy Carr, alongside permanent team captains Katherine Ryan and D.L. Hughley. Guest comedians and experts must tackle one massive issue facing the world and attempting to solve it. It is set to make you laugh out loud, so why not grab your mates and help solve some of the world’s biggest problems?

Luther Season 5 (2018)

He’s back – finally! The iconic Detective Chief Inspector John Luther returns in the new instalment of the original drama, which aired its last episode in 2015. The brilliant yet self-destructive detective always seems to set himself on a collision course jam-packed full of violence. It’s amazing. There is no official release date yet, but we know for sure that it will be here for Christmas! So stay tuned.
