We caught up with up-and-coming British artist James Cherry as part of our Best of British campaign with Fred Perry. 23-year-old James Cherry hails from the city of Leicester and has been writing songs since he was 13. He is inspired by the characters he meets, by revenge and guilt, and the artists Little Richard and Plan B. His deeply personal next single ‘Break Somebody’ is available from September 30th, with his debut headline UK tour launching in Manchester the following week.

What do you miss about home when you’re on tour?

I miss people that know what a cob is.

Little Richard, Arctic Monkeys, Paolo Nutini, Jamie T, The Streets.
