The penultimate weekend in August means one thing: V Festival is back and is taking over both Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in Staffordshire with another belter of a line up. With over 100 artists across six stages and 170,000 tickets sold it’s going to be an incredible few days.
Some of the best dance acts including Annie Mac and Eric Prydz will be kicking off the weekend this Friday at BBC Radio 1’s Summer of Dance where non-camping weekend ticket holders have a chance to upgrade and join in that festival vibe.
While on Saturday and Sunday the likes of Justin Bieber, Sia, David Guetta and Rihanna will be headlining the main Virgin Media stage. With it being Rihanna’s only UK stop this year, it’s definitely a must-see appearance.
And if that’s not for you the Dance Arena boasts DJ veterans DJ EZ, MK and Philip George. As well as this, there are a number of homegrown artists like Jess Glynne and Bastille representing the nation performing this weekend so it really is the best of current British music. At V, there’s music for everyone and more in the form of a comedy tent.
But what’s a UK festival without a bit of rain so don’t forget a pair of wellies and a rain mac because there is likely to be some showers at both scenic locations. Not only that, but it’s reported that Justin Bieber is looking to make a splash with his performance by requesting 800 gallons of purified water!
Luckily, it’s not too late to grab some last minute tickets to see the flurry of international stars this year with VIP and day tickets still available.
And if you can’t make it, there’s no excuse not to be joining in the party with all coverage being shown on Channel 5. At least you’ll miss the rain.
