It’s been a cracking summer in the music world with some top headliners from festivals all around the country. And it’s not over. Shiiine On Festival kicks off on the 8th September and they’re taking it up a notch with a pretty exciting line up.

It’s a blockbuster festival set to take place at the Birmingham 02 Academy 1/2/3, for the first time. We must say it’s got us clinging onto the festival season, that, let’s be honest, we really weren’t ready to let go of. If you’re all about throwing on your best gear and throwing out your best shapes, sit up and take notice. We’ve got all the need-to-know info.

The brand new event, will feature an entire day of top quality music from over 20 truly iconic bands: including Orbital, Happy Mondays, Embrace, Reverend and the Makers and Dreadzone. Further to that there’s going to be a mad Hacienda after party. What’s not to love?

The Headliners:

Shiiine On’s opening headliners include legendary house duo Orbital – The duo of brothers who made their name in the height of the UK’s first dance revolution. Although Orbital have been away from the charts, the two have continued to make music in the background. Consequently, they’ve amassed a formidable reputation for making great tunes. Famously, the pair headlined Glastonbury as part of one of it’s lauded early nineties line-ups, taking dance music to the big time. Orbital will be celebrating 30 years in the music industry with a full festival show in Birmingham.

The two other groups headlining on the main stage will be indie lads Shed Seven, coming off the back of a triumphant return to music, and scotts favourites, Manchester legends Happy Mondays.

The Other Stages:

Elsewhere on the outside stage, pioneers of the Sheffield scene Reverend and The Makers will be joined by Dreadzone and Bentley Rhythm Ace for a day of solid guitar grooves. The Academy 3 Stage will be headlined by The Membranes, Thousand Yard Stare and more in support.

To top it all off there’s two after parties lined up. Basically, it’s perfect for those who just don’t want to stop. The Hacienda themed party will be sound tracked by Todd Terry and Chicago House innovator Marshall Jefferson.
