With just weeks to go until this year’s Melt! Festival, we take a look at some of this year’s must-see acts.
Disclosure are expected to present unreleased material on the festival’s main stage, as well as performing hits from their second album Caracal as they close the show on Sunday night. Another London native not to miss this year is man of the moment Skepta who brings his renowned grime sound to the Medusa stage on Friday night.
The genre continues to gather momentum from its mainstream explosion with Skepta rightly being dubbed a veteran. Fans can expect material from his new album Konnichiwa as well as other Boy Better Know bangers.
For those wanting to hear more homegrown sounds, techno heavyweight Ben Klock will be on hand at the Big Wheel Stage in the early hours of Saturday morning. The Berghain resident will showcase a three hour set for all-night revellers and, right at the start of the weekend, this should be an early highlight.
Irish indie band Two Door Cinema Club continue their comeback festival-heavy tour at Melt! on Saturday night following a series of surprise shows in Ireland. Fans will eagerly await the performance – the band’s last live tour ended back in 2013.
The dynamic three-piece outfit will present works from their unreleased third album on Saturday, a whole four years since the release of their last album Beacon.
Our final name needs no introduction.
Jamie xx returns to Melt! this year after an acclaimed performance in 2015. Back then fans only had a month to get to know his debut album In Colour. Fast forward to 2016 and expect to hear the masses singing hits such as Loud Places, I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times) and Girl at the top of their voices.
